What happens after I submit my garments?

You did it — your submission is in! Here’s what happens next:

You’ll get an offer (within 24 business hours).
Keep an eye on your inbox for an email from alex@clothesforcash.com — that’s where your offer will arrive. You’ll have 7 days to accept it before it expires.

Accept your offer with one click.
When you’re ready, click the “Accept Offer” button right inside your offer email. Once you accept, we’ll send your prepaid shipping label straight to your inbox.

Ship your items within 30 days.
Your label is valid for 30 days after it’s issued. If the package isn’t scanned within that time, your label will deactivate and you’ll need to start a new submission.

Set up your payment portal.
After accepting your offer, you’ll receive instructions to create a secure Stripe payment portal. This is where you’ll safely receive your payout. Stripe is an industry leader in online payments, and your personal and banking information is identity-protected and fully encrypted — we never see or store your payment details.

Once your Stripe account is verified, you’ll be ready to receive funds the moment your items are approved.

Item verification & payout.
Once your package arrives, our Wardrobe Experts verify your items within 1–2 business days. As soon as that’s done, your payout is on its way!

I submitted my garments, but haven’t received an offer. What should I do?

Offers are typically sent within 24 business hours. If you haven’t received one, check your spam folder for an email from alex@clothesforcash.com. If it’s not there, contact us

I never received my shipping label. What should I do?

Double-check your spam folder. Your label is automatically generated and sent to you. If it’s missing, email us and we’ll resend it right away.

Can I add more items after I’ve submitted my form?

Yes! Just submit a new form with the additional items.

When will I get paid?

Payments are issued immediately after item verification — usually within 1–2 business days of arrival.

What happens if I decline the offer?

There’s no obligation. If you decline, simply let us know — nothing will be shipped or charged.

Do you sell the clothes you buy?

Yes! We resell them through our Designer & Vintage store, which has over 21,000 five-star reviews.

Who pays for shipping?

We provide a prepaid, shipping label for all accepted submissions.

What happens if my items aren’t accepted?

If the items we receive don’t match the description or photos provided during the submission process, your final offer may be adjusted. Payment amounts are based on the actual condition and quality of the items once received and verified. To ensure a smooth process (and the best offer possible), please describe your items accurately and include clear, well-lit photos.

If an item ultimately doesn’t meet our quality standards, you’ll be notified and can choose to have it returned at cost or donated

How long do I have to accept my offer?

You’ll have 7 days to accept your offer once it’s sent. After that, the offer expires and your prepaid shipping label will be deactivated.

How long do I have to ship my items after accepting the offer?

Once you’ve accepted your offer, please ship your items within 7 days. If the package isn’t scanned by that time, your offer and label will expire, and you’ll need to start a new submission.

Why do offers expire?

Market prices can change quickly. Keeping deadlines ensures you get the most accurate, up-to-date offer possible — and helps us process everyone’s wardrobes efficiently.

Can I track my shipment?

Yes, the tracking link is included in your shipping label email.

What brands do you accept?

We specialize in luxury menswear from brands like Kiton, Brioni, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Savile Row Bespoke tailors, and more. See our Accepted Brands List.

What if I don’t accept the offer?

There’s no obligation! If you choose not to accept, you can simply decline the offer.

How quickly will I get paid?

Immediately after item verification. We issue payment through Stripe, an industry leader in secure online payments.

Payments are sent through a payment processor called Stripe. They are an industry leader at sending secure payments. After you submit your items through the form, you’ll receive instructions to set up your account. It’s a quick and secure process.

What happens if my items aren’t verified as authentic?

If your items are found to be counterfeit or inauthentic:

We do not accept counterfeit or replica items.

Any counterfeit items received will be immediately destroyed and will not be returned.

Will my final offer always match the initial offer?

We provide a pricing range upfront based on brand, condition, and real-time market demand. If your item matches the details provided, your final payment will fall within this range. If we find undisclosed damage or tailoring that affects resale value, we’ll notify you of any adjustments before payment.

Tip: To ensure the most accurate offer, include clear photos and details when submitting your item!

What types of flaws are NOT accepted?

To maintain the quality and value of our inventory, we do not accept items with the following flaws:
🚫 Visible Wear & Fading – Any surface wear, scuffs, or fading will significantly reduce value and will not be accepted. Items must retain their original color depth and finish.
🚫 Heavy Stains or Discoloration – No marks, discoloration, or fabric staining, including collar stains, water damage, or dye transfer.
🚫 Odors (Smoke, Mildew, Cologne, or Strong Scents) – Items must be fresh and odor-free
🚫 Rips, Holes, or Unrepaired Tears – No frayed cuffs, unraveling seams, or fabric damage.
🚫 Missing or Damaged Hardware – Buttons, zippers, and fastenings must be fully intact and functional.
🚫 Excessive Pilling, Stretching, or Fabric Thinning – Fabric should hold its original shape and structure without signs of overuse or excessive wear.
🚫 We do not accept counterfeit or replica items. Any counterfeit items received will be immediately destroyed and will not be returned.

If you're unsure whether your item meets these standards, contact us before submitting.

Do you accept tailored or altered clothing?

We accept items with standard tailoring (such as sleeve hemming, minor waist adjustments, or standard pant hemming). However, we do not accept items that have been heavily tailored in a way that significantly alters their original size or proportions.

What We Accept:
✔ Minor sleeve hemming
✔ Standard pant length adjustments
✔ Slight waist or jacket tapering

What We Do NOT Accept:
❌ Sleeves tailored drastically short
❌ Pants hemmed significantly shorter than standard inseams
❌ Jackets resized to a much smaller fit
❌ Any extreme alterations that could impact resale value

Tip: If your item has been significantly tailored, it may not meet our condition standards. If you're unsure, feel free to include measurements in the area for additional notes or contact us before submitting!

What happens if your items don’t meet condition standards?

If we find additional wear or damage not disclosed in your photos, we’ll notify you of any changes to your offer. If the item no longer meets our standards, you will be responsible for return shipping costs.

If your items are not accepted due to condition issues:
You will receive an invoice for the return shipping fee. Once paid, your items will be sent back to you.If return shipping is not paid within 14 business days, the items will be donated.

If your items are found to be counterfeit or inauthentic:
We do not accept counterfeit or replica items. Any counterfeit items received will be immediately destroyed and will not be returned.
We take authenticity seriously and only deal in verified luxury menswear.

Tip: To avoid any issues, please accurately describe your item’s condition when submitting photos. If you’re unsure, feel free to ask us before shipping.

How do you verify the authenticity of items?

We carefully inspect and authenticate every item we purchase to ensure it meets our quality and authenticity standards. Our team has years of experience handling luxury menswear and uses industry-standard methods to verify each piece. We do NOT accept counterfeit or replica items.

Any counterfeit items received will be immediately destroyed. If an item cannot be verified as authentic, it will not qualify for payment.

Tip: If you have original receipts, authenticity cards, or other documentation, including them with your submission can help streamline the verification process.

What items are you currently accepting?

At this time, we are accepting suits, blazers, and coats. If you have other items—such as shoes, accessories, shirts, or ties—that you’d like to sell, send us a message.

How do you determine pricing?

Our team evaluates items based on brand, condition, market demand, and resale value to ensure you receive the best possible offer. Read more about pricing and offers.

What condition do items need to be in?

We accept gently worn and like-new designer menswear with no major flaws or damage.

What types of flaws are acceptable?

We understand that pre-owned luxury menswear may show some signs of wear. We accept items with:
✔ Light fabric creasing (such as on shoes or leather goods)
✔ Minor fading or surface wear (as long as it doesn’t compromise overall appearance)
✔ Slight pilling or texture changes (on knitwear, wool, or cashmere)
✔ Minimal scuffs on leather goods (provided they don’t affect structural integrity)

What if I’m unsure about my item’s condition?

If you’re not sure whether your item qualifies, submit photos, and we’ll review them. We’ll provide a offer or let you know if the item doesn’t meet our standards.
